In the next concerts of the tour Atom String Quartet will present its artistic work. The concerts’ program will consist of Polish music, including original compositions of the quartet’s musicians, pieces of Zbigniew Seifert (famous in the USA Polish jazz violinist, who died 40 years ago) from ASQ’s last CD, as well as works of great Polish composers: Witold Lutosławski and Krzysztof Penderecki, arranged by ASQ for an improvising string quartet.

Atom String Quartet is one of the very rare string quartets in the world playing jazz. Its music output, besides jazz, shows sources of inspiration coming from Polish folk, music of various regions of the world, and also contemporary and classical music.

The quartet was established in Warsaw in 2010, all of the musicians graduated from Warsaw Frederic Chopin University of Music. Since 2011, the band constantly performs at the greatest music festivals of the world, such as: Berliner Jazztage, Jazz Baltica, Cairo Jazz Festival, Katara European Jazz Festival, Gaume Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Jazzycolors etc. Atom String Quartet performed also in such prestigious concert halls as: Carnegie Hall (NYC), Elbphilaharmonie (Hamburg), Berliner Philharmonie (Berlin) and National Center for the Performing Arts (Beijing).

The group recorded four original records, two of them received the Polish music award “Fryderyk” (Polish “Grammy”). Not only does the audience all over the world appreciate the quartet`s uniqueness but also the artists who invite ASQ to cooperate, e.g.: Branford Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, Mino Cinelu, Grażyna Auguścik, Urszula Dudziak, etc.
