The Skulski Art Gallery
of the Polish Cultural Foundation is proud to present a photographic exhibit titled "Texture, Structure & Pattern" by polish artist/photographer Aneta Pierog-Sudol, November 21-30, 2014.

ANETA PIEROG-SUDOL was born in Poland in 1975.  She spent most of her life in Jablonka, the capital of the Orava region, Poland.  She has been living in the United States since 2002.
Aneta studied at the Art Institute of the Pedagogical University in Cracow where she majored in photography and painting.  She graduated with a Master’s degree in art education in 1999.  She first become interested in photography during her high school years, when she was chosen as the class chronicle photographer.  However, she did not develop her professional interest in this field until college.  Since then, she has worked as a freelancer, doing weeding photography.

Her work focuses on land structures, architecture patterns, landscapes and rhythm of nature.  Most of her inspirations come from old architecture in Europe, modern architecture in New York City, landscapes of the Orava region, Tatra Mountains, Poland and landscapes of North America and Canada.

Her work has been published in the “Malopolska” Album by the District Museum in Nowy Sacz, Poland in 2005, as well as numerous times in a Polish monthly magazine, “Moja Orawa” between 2000 and 2003 and in Polish Daily News and weekly magazines: “Nowy Dziennik”, “Polski Dzien”, “Dziennik Polski”, “Plus”, “Dwutygodnik Polonijny” between 2002-2014.

Aneta Pierog-Sudol is also the winner of several covered awards and contests including “The Treasures of Malopolska” competition by the District Museum in Nowy Sacz, Poland, 2003 an honorable mention awared by the Museum of History of Photography in Krakow for her sepia set, and “Upper Orawa – Landscape and People” photo competition by the Trans-border Association “Tatra Euroregion”, Poland, Slovakia 2003, first prize for the photography of Orawa landscape.  Aneta participated in numerous group photo shows in Poland (Wisnicz, Jablonka, Lipnica Wielka, Nowy Sacz, Warszawa, and in the United States in New York City, Wallington, NJ, Great Meadows, NJ, Union City, Montcalir, NJ, as well as three individual exhibitions: 2002 “Jablonka Homes”, Trees, Panoramas…” at the Orawa Ethnographic park Museum in Poland, 2001: “Colors of Orawa” at the Orawa Cultural Center Gallery in Poland and  in 2013 “American Sites” at the Orawa Cultural Center Gallery.  She is a member of the Polish-American Photographic Club since 2005.
